High Strangeness with Java versions on MacOS

Zulu and Temurin Java 17.x versions do not work with I2P 2.10.0, which are builds of OpenJDK.

Now, OpenJDK 17, https://openjdk.org/projects/jdk/17/, does not work with I2P using 17.0.2 (build 17.0.2+8) and very old and without security fixes.

I2P only works with OpenJDK version, 17.0.1 (build 17.0.1+12), which is very old without security fixes.

I2P works with all Temurin 8 (openjdk build) versions.

Is there a specific version and distribution vendor of Java we need for success with I2P 2.10.0?

Any openjdk 8 or higher should work with I2P 2.10.0. I've tested everything from Java 8 to 24. But we don't do a lot of testing on MacOS.

As of the next release we will require Java 17 or higher.

If it doesn't work, please report the error messages or logs.
