Does someone how how to install I2Phex standalone client on linux?

I downloaded 3.2.7.0.0. from echelon.i2p.
Running the install application an error occurs:

Wrong Java Version.
Please use a newer Java VM.
Phex requires at least Java 1.5.0. You are using Java 10.0.1.
To get the latest Java release go to http://java.com.

Do i have to downgrade my Java version?

you may recompile i2phex from source with your java.
the compiled version uses a older java version.
