Too much to ask? Backchannel?

Hi there, there seem to have appeared some problems in the recent days.
Difficult to say because I have no official info, is there any?
IRC is full of idlers and extremely knowledgable persons who would completely fail to tell you the time of day. Reddit r/i2p is empty.
It's no fun to write an email to every person possibly involved to ask if something happened.
Would it be too much to ask for an official channel?
In my opinion i2p as it is is utter lameass and mainly dysfunctional.
