FrostWire 7.0.3 supports I2P

Post by provil »

FrostWire 7.0.3 now comes with I2P integration.
I2P Integration: Added the foundational configuration infrastructure for I2P, including a dedicated UI settings panel and registration within the options dialog.
Enhanced Options Management: Improved the applyOptions logic for the new I2P settings to ensure configurations are saved correctly.
This is one of the best things that has happened to I2P. Frost-wire comes with inbuilt search engine too.

Now, that many clients are supporting I2P, from nowonwards we will have very wide range of user-base interacting with I2P.

Interesting. The release notes only talk about "initial infrastructure" (a config UI), not full implementation, and I only saw config things in the recent commits. Perhaps the screenshot is from some unreleased test version, or I'm looking in the wrong place.

The only clue in the commits on how they're going to do it is a couple references to the SAM port. That's fine for starters, but then they'll be stuck without DHT and other UDP things. They will eventually want to switch to I2CP like i2psnark and bigly. Since they're a Java application they can just grab our jars for that.
