The install guide

Post by supperman »

The detailed install guide https://geti2p.net/en/download/windows could use a link to the installer bundle/firefox profile, in this section "Install the I2P Firefox Profile", and picture updated. The user shouldn't have to back up mid guide.

Fair enough. I would like to open for consideration, however, returning to the use of an "Un-Bundled Browser Profile Manager" for "Un-Bundled router installs," i.e. in lieu of recommending the Easy-Install itself as a profile manager, recommending the Firefox Profile Manager `i2p.plugins.firefox` instead. For reference: this is the source code of the Easy-Install bundle: https://i2pgit.org/i2p-hackers/i2p.firefox/ and this is the source of the Firefox Profile Manager https://i2pgit.org/idk/i2p.plugins.firefox/. The difference is simple, the Easy-Install bundle contains an I2P router and is capable of running portably, on it's own, and the Firefox Profile Manager does not. Thus, it is a lighter install and more closely follows the "un-bundled" pattern used by the classic install procedure.

Good idea? Bad idea? Unnecessary idea?
