Whonix moving towards I2P integration

Post by MANIAC »

Whonix, a privacy & anonymity OS, is moving towards I2P integration. This is a secondary goal, but many users are interested in making this happen. Visit http://forums.whonix.org/t/i2p-integration/4981 or the onion site http://forums.dds6qkxpwdeubwucdiaord2xg ... ation/4981 to read about it and to take part in the discussion.

They are far from it! Use Parrot https://www.parrotsec.org/ if you can download it. I can't over Tor.

There are ways to install in Whonix gw but it breaks some of the security. i2p Whonix ws over Tor is a classic but you may get banned from some nodes and peers if you do not use hidden mode and ipv 4 only. Use an Old Tails version for configuration help.

Why use Parrot OS? What makes it good?

I don't want to connect to I2P through Tor.

maybe u are reading the basic usage of I2P in whonix , which is just install it and run it inside Whonix-WS.

thats not the case anymore , as there is a development of whonix-i2p (only inside whonix-qubes supported):

steps to be done:

https://github.com/mutedstorm/Whonix-I2P

full discussion:

https://forums.whonix.org/t/i2p-integration/4981

atm for security reasons only eepsites browsing and Irc2p are working. as susimail,i2psnark..etc using the main port of I2P connection which we dont want any access to it in the WS. (to avoid the connection to be modified by any malicious act).

As far as I know Parrot OS dropped support and integration (i2p as daemon) in their forelast version. To my knowledge it doesn't run with their 'anon script' anymore.
