Hi i2p.

Just wanted to install bote but got this error while getting to the site:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to bote.i2p. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. Error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

I am getting a similar error. What can be done to repair this? I would like to update my guide to reflect this.

Same here. http://bote.i2p redirect to https and fail with ssl error.
Is there I can do in my browser or it must be fixed on the server side?

A little workaround for installing the plugin:

Visit i2pbote.xyz/i2pbote.su3 over the clearnet and install the plugin manually.

If you get a https redirection on bote.i2p and a error, you need to clean out your browser cache.
