i2pSnark data directory configuration

Post by user1109 »

I have two USB external hard drives. Is there a way to configure multiple paths in the data directory configuration? One of my drives is filling up and I would like to use both. I was hoping that I could use something like "/data directory path1/ (some delimiter character) /data directory path2/".

Thank you.

Hi

no, snark is just a simple solution, not meant to be used for complex setups

You could run 2 Snark instances, see here http://zzz.i2p/topics/1374.

Or use Snark standalone multiple times, you will have to patch jetty for different Web UI ports.

Or use BiglyBT, which allows any complex configuration.

Thank you, jogger. I appreciate your response. This is exactly what I was looking for. It is working just fine. It is simple, yet very effective solution.

Have fun. Remember to distribute torrents that share the same set of peers across instances for best performance. Example: When downloading or seeding four episodes of the same season, just run two of them in each instance.

As long as you have spare disk space you can download faster by running two copies of the same torrent now. They will copy aquired pieces locally across the router. Only helps when above case does not apply.

Thanks for this tip, I like this solution more now. 8-)
