Proxy settings in Android

Post by hammer »

I can't find a browser in Android that still has a proxy setting. It seems all the browsers, including Chrome decided they don't need to provide proxy seetings to users anymore.

Anybody else has this problem?

I have the same problem. str4d said at one point he had a solution in mind but I don't remember what it was.

So I end up using the built-in browser even though it frankly sucks

There is a Lightning Web Browser on the Google Play Store which allows for manual setting of Proxy. It doesn't have advertisements or in-app purchases and is open source.

I use the Lightning browser as well for I2P when I'm moving. It works fine. You only have to tell Lightning that you are using I2P.

If you download Firefox for Android you can open about:config and input the i2p local http and ssl proxy ports. That will give you access to i2p sites. I have not tried foxyproxy but that might work as well.
