Re: The absolute state of update URLs
These update URLs haven't been changed because we migrated to Bittorrent-based updates for everything that's not a platform-specific package(Debian, Android) many, many years ago, where a package manager is used. It's more likely that we would add bittorrent-based updating to those packages than it ...

Re: zzz and the state of i2p Java router development
We won't be discussing any aspect of zzz's situation out of respect for his right to take his presence private. I will speak generally, zzz isn't arrested, he isn't in danger of being arrested, he isn't dead. I understand why you would feel this is an inadequate explanation, but I simply won't be sa...

I2P 1.6.1 Released
CC'ed from zzz's release notes(OP above) Note: 1.6.1 is the current release. 1.6.0 was tagged but not released. This release completes the rollout of two major protocol updates developed in 2021. The transition to X25519 encryption for routers is accelerated, and we expect almost all routers to be r...

Re: Request for Comments: I2P Style Guide
The person listed as the website maintainer is me and the reason it takes me so long to make changes is because if there is a task that needs done, I offer to pick it up. That's how I ended up having 12 jobs on that page. I have maybe another 20 or so jobs that aren't on that page. I'd love to have ...

Re: Request for Comments: I2P Style Guide
Yes it does seem to be complex and create controversy, but to answer your question right now, in the absence of much feedback, I treat it as a color-picker. The logos were too similar to logos of other organizations to be used, one of them in particular looks just like Ubisoft. Any usage of these gu...

Re: Why not to use I2P
Yeah that is the idea. In combination they should work with and enhance eachother. They're supposed to be standalone too, you shouldn't need to run a chat or a feedreader if you don't want to. BRB should be generally useful as an IRC client even without the IRC server component running. Running a bl...

Re: Why not to use I2P
You have a point, especially when you compare the onboarding problem and convenience foods. In fact, our opinions line up on almost everything except perhaps for the utility of this particular forum at this particular time. Once we have Microwave-ready, Instant-Pot I2P then this forum makes a lot mo...
