Re: Anxiety about clearnet leakage while browsing eepsites

i run browser in a container (am not using qubes os or anything like that, at least not yet), and use firewall to block all connections from that container except to the necessary i2p router ports. That's a nice idea. Are you using podman? on debian 12? Would you consider writing some guide describ...

Anxiety about clearnet leakage while browsing eepsites

I am using Mullvad Browser with i2pd on my debian 12 system. Every now and then, I wonder whether the eepsites I visited might be causing the mullvad browser to leak clearnet connections by maliciously or incompetently causing the browser to make clearnet request, essentially voiding my privacy. Sin...

sys-i2p for qubes os

How would one setup a sys-i2p for qubes os? Qubes currently has a sys-whonix qube, which routes through Tor network, each and every qube that uses it as its "net qube". How would its i2p version would look like? For starters, how would one restrict each and every internet connection of the...

Re: Bitchan/Bitmessage fully over I2P? Good idea or why.?

I like bitchan. It offers a truly decentralized, uncensorable, and anonymous image-board forum to its users. It has good potential to be a place for anarchistic discussion hub. However, afaik, its message relaying system is handled by bitmessage itself, which is, again afaik, not anonymous message r...

Where do I begin with understanding the naming system on i2p domains?

Looking at any jump service, like reg.i2p, notbob.i2p, etc., I am seeing human-legible names assigned to random i2p b32 addresses. How are these coordinated, and what happens if I try to assign a name to my newly-created i2p website a name that was already in use by some other, older, i2p website?

I heard some rumors about zzz returning back. Anyone else heard those?

Re: Enabling floodfill--What it does?

When you're floodfill you participate in storing LeaseSets (destination addresses basically). Essentially on top of relying bandwidth you also participate in securing network consensus. I believe it requires a bit more CPU and bandwidth. Your bandwidth should be fine, I think you should enable it. ...

Enabling floodfill--What it does?

If I enable the floodfill from /etc/i2pd/i2pd.conf file, what happens? How do I help the i2p network? From my home router, I have limited the single board computer that's running i2pd to 3 MiB/s download 2 MiB/s upload bandwidth. Would that bandwidth still help the i2p network in floodfill mode?

Re: torrenting and hops

>With only 1 hop on your site it is easier to get your client, but not the server, which is still on 4. So, okay, then that means, IF me and the server of the torrent (the other i2p + qbittorrent client) have put the number of hops to 1, then there will be 2 hops between me and the other peer that I...
